Household Spending Analysis

Situation
My husband and I have been married for several years and seem to have a relatively good handle on our finances. We pay our bills regularly and even manage to save a bit from time to time. The one thing we have never done is prepare a household budget. It always seemed like a hard thing to even start. Can you help?

Suggestion
Household budgets are usually neither fun to prepare nor to live by. Instead of calling it a budget, consider describing it as a household spending analysis. A spending worksheet can help you identify how you are currently spending your money and identify areas where you can reduce your spending.
